the book I'm reading right now ("the botox diaries," an awful attempt at chick lit) is really bad, and made worse by the fact that I'm partway through skimming Harry Potter book 4. which I of course do not have on disc right now, but not for lack of trying. also, since I've run out of time to read 4 and 5 in their entirety, I'm going to just kind of skim them both. I got through like 100 pages in about 30 minutes yesterday, but then I fell asleep, so I only got up to 200 pages altogether. and today Judith is coming over to do the ceremonious Exchanging of the Goods, so I won't have a ton of time to finish, and tomorrow I obviously have commitments at the bookstore. but that's not until later. so I basically have about 4 hours in which to finish book 4 and get through book 5.

this job totally sucks. the "goodbye" lunch for me was Tuesday, and it just happened to also be the company's annual "thank you" lunch and Barb's "happy birthday" gathering. except it wasn't accidental at all. there was a cake for Barb and a cake for the employees as a whole, but no cake for me. or even mention of me. I don't think most of those people even know I'm leaving. whatever. it would be nice if they acted like they cared, but since I'm really just counting the hours left to spend in this craphole (14 as of now), I can't say it bothers me that much.

I wonder if I will see Jenny in any extended capacity again before I leave. for some reason I feel like I won't. but it's Tiffani's birthday next week, so I think we're all going to hang out together for that at least. maybe go to dinner or something else really old people do. since we're all very very old now.

by this time next week, I should be somewhere in the midwest. hopefully. and hopefully with peaceful, sleeping cats that do not crap everywhere.

too many things are happening in the next week.
